through specified account rule

If I try and set up a rule under outlook 2003 to process
mail received through a specified account, the 'through
this machine only' box also gets ticked and the tick
cannot be removed. Also, I am trying to set up this rule
on a profile that retrieves from two pop3 accounts and
when I click apply, the 'specifed account' reverts from
the desired account to the default account.

Is this a bug or can anyone help please?

That rule only works on "this machine" because that's where the account is,
so the tick is correct.

The selected account should remain selected in the rule description.

Thanks for the amazingly quick reply.

I can assure you that when I click on the 'Apply' button
the account changes to the only other account which
happens to be the default. I have tried this many times.
By clicking on apply instead of OK I actually see this
happen. If I set up a similar rule on the default account
it stays that way. I just thought the 'this machine' tick
may have something to do with it as this fault wasn't
there in 2002 and neither was 'this machine'.

Richard, I am having the same exact problem. Every time I hit "Apply" it reverts the account to my default account. If you or anyone else can figure out how to correct this please let me know. Thanks in advance.

After the initial speedy reply and my response to it Diane
Poremsky seems to have gone a bit quiet, so I did some
experimenting. Our problem can apparently be (possibly)
resolved by setting up a new mail profile and adding the
accounts in again. This implies that there is a profile
related problem interfering with rules somehow. Setting up
a new profile worked for me so I hope it does for you too
Jim. I still reckon there is a Microsoft bug there
somewhere!

I am experiencing the same issue. Is creating a new
profile the only resolution? Or is there another fix?
