In certain applications, when I double click the mouse, a whole region
of the page is highlighted as if to select something to copy. Can
someone please explain why this is happening? Is there a 'switch' to
turn it off?

Thnx,
Vic

If you double-click in a text portion, this is normal, but to a certain
extent. Only one word should get highlighted. If it is a triple-click, it
should highlight as much as it can within the text range. Could you be more
specific on the problem?

Your mouse, in all probability, needs to be changed. Jonathan is absolutely
right.

Ok guys, tried adjusting the mouse click speed from slowest to fastest
but the same situation exists. Wish I could explain the problem more
clearly. It's 'link' related; here's an example:

open a WordPerfect document, document has imbedded music link, double
click link (single click isn't enough to activate link) and the music
plays but a section of the page becomes highlighted as if to copy! Huh?

My system is a multiboot system, Win98 & Win95 (don't laugh) exibit no
problems like this (using the same WP software, hardware and files) so I
think it's some setting in Win XP (home edition).

Any ideas why the page gets highlighted as if to copy when
double-clicking a link?
