Thanks gang,
I am reasonably up to snuff on Outlook and have used it for as long as it
has been around. I am running Windows 2k Pro and Office 2k Pro and Outlook
is configured to use Word as the default email editor. It does so quiet
well both composing and reading email, except when email is receives from
one particular person, one out of hundreds. This lady <the sender> is also
using Outlook 2k pro and windows 2k pro and word as default editor. When I
receive mail from her and try to open it I receive the message

"This form requires Word as your email editor, but Word is either busy or
cannot be found. The form will be opened in the Outlook editor instead."

Click ok and the Outllok editor opens the email. Close the email and then
check the Outlook email options and the check box for using Word as the
default editor has been unchecked. It happens consistently. I have looked
over the configuration on her end and found nothing unusual and she is
sending a plain typed text using Word 2k in Outlook 2k same as me.

Very baffled,
Chris

Thank you for the very welcome advice,

Q223934 looked to be the best fit even though I only have Office 2000 and
Outlook 2000 I followed the instructions deleting the appropriate keys in
the registry, then repairing the install. Well the message no longer
appears but word is now not opening in Outlook as editor. Check mark or no
check mark, open an email and I get the plain text editor. This is only the
case while opening received mail. When I create new mail Word opens fine.

Please advise if you can.

Cheers
Chris
