Get a USB v2.0 PCI card and plug into the card. At $10.00 US per port its well worth it.

USB2 PCI cards are very inexpensive (~$20.00). You might
consider upgrading and then disable your on-board USB channels.
My local parts distributor has 5-Port cards for around $18.00.
There are also USB2/Firewire combo cards. Many of them have
headers where you can mount front panel USB sockets. Very
handy for Thumb drives and cameras...
