I would like an opinion of those who have used system
mechinic pro and norton's system works pro which program
they would recommed or use themselves. Thanks
.
I had many issues with Nortons stuff years ago, but I do
not know about current software. I use System Mechanic
Pro now with no problems (I'm running XP Pro). In fact,
I've found it to be quite usefull. I do considerable
graphics work and the ability to defrag my RAM makes it
very desireable software. Sure there is free stuff out
there, but by paying for it I get good quality support if
needed. With System Mechanic I've never needed any
support though. These programs are not needed to maintain
your computer but they are cheap and very useful in my
oppinion. I also use the "Incinerator" on hard discs
whenever I sell a computer. If used properly it deletes
all records in a manner that they can not be recovered by
any means. Also the registry tool has never caused me any
trouble. The freeware registry tools caused me nothing
but trouble!!! I think most people who are opposed to
this type of software think we should all be experts on
all aspects of computers. NOT! I've mastered dozens of
cutting edge graphics apps and do not have time to learn
every little detail of the operating systems. Anything
that saves me time is invaluable. If a 100 dollar piece
of software saves me 2 hours it has paid for itself.
Until today I've never seen a bad review of System
Mechanic. Sounds preety fishy to me. Try the trial
version and then you can make up your own mind without
the prejudice of people who think all software should be
free and think that other peoples time is of no value!
Just my opinion for what it's worth.
