Thesaurus

For some reason (and it may be related to my recent installation of McAfee Internet Security), the thesaurus never offers any suggestions anymore not even for a simple word such as 'big". I am running word 97 on a Dell system with win98se. I was hoping for any suggestion anyone might have. Some suggested I adjust my ActiveX settings. But, I don't know how. If this sounds like it might work how would I do that?
