Themes - different versions of frontpage

I am in the process of learing frontpage 2002. My question is can themes
from earlier versions of frontpage be used or only themes that were designed
specifically for FP 2002

Themes must be design to be used in a specific version.

However themes from prior versions will be imported into the version being used when the web / site
using this older version is open in the version being used.

Note: If there is a new version of the prior theme in the version being used, it will replace the
prior version's theme when the site is open in the version being used.
