You can't use a single picture as a "theme". If you want it as your
desktop
background/wallpaper, right-click the picture and select it as your
wallpaper.

Where are you "clicking on the theme"? You can't use those old xp
theme
files
in vista. You have to use Personalization in Control Panel to select a
vista
theme. You can select a jpg picture from that old theme as a Desktop
background if that's what you want. Look up Theme in vista help.

When I click on the Theme to chande it I get the following.
"c:\Users\Ron\Documents\Deer.Theme is not a valid Theme"
What the heck is going on???
