Hi, I'm Mr. Wahid.

I would like to know how to get rid of the screen that pops up when I
log on to my computer. The one that ask for a user name and password.
Thank you for any help on this. :-))

.. Go to the Start Menu and the Run box.
.. Type in the following:
control userpasswords2
.. now click OK
.. In the new Windows that appears select the account you wish to make the primary logon.
.. Now uncheck the "Users must enter a username and password..." box.
.. Hit Apply and a dialog box will appear asking you to confirm the selected users
password.

Click OK.
The changes will work the next time you restart your computer.

1. Go to Start | Run and type in: control userpasswords2 | Ok.

2. On the Users tab, clear the Users Must Enter A User Name And Password To
Use This Computer check box and then click OK.

3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the user name
and password for the account you want to be logged on each time you start
your computer.

You can accomplish the same thing by:

Download and install tweakui for xp and use its auto logon feature.

Lastly you can add the Dialog box that comes up when running control
userpasswords 2 to the Control Panel with the following tweak:

Add Control User Passwords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)

Are the other posters in the right area?

Are you talking of the grey box that appears with a custom message? Is so,
this is what you need to do:

Click START
Click RUN
Type 'regedit' (without quotes) & press OK
Navigate to by expanding the '+' signs until you reach WinLogon:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

In the right pane you will see two values that maybe set:

1) LegalNoticeCaption
2) LegalNoticeText

If there is the text in there that you see when you logon then double-click
the value above (1, 2 or both) & delete the text then click OK

Close the registry editor & you should be ok the next time you login

I hope this helps,
