The value you entered isn't valid for this field - Error Message

I get an error message in my main information entry form. Each time I open
the form, place the cursor in a field and run "find record" I get an error
message "the value entered is invalid for this field" It then finds the
record I'm looking for.

I saw previous posts with the same problem, but for some reason I cannot
open the replies.

Please help! I have 15 people who work in this database and it's driving
them crazy.

Okay, Now I'm totally baffled. I went back into the database to see if I
could figure it out. What I found was that it only happens when running
"find" on a select few client names. i.e. When I put the cursor in the
field and ask for "Johnson" it goes directly to the record. Same for
hundreds of other client names, but when I ask for "Cotton" or "Bulldog" or
ten other client names, (that I've isolated) I get the error message. These
clients have no more in common than any other ones. This happens EVERY TIME!
I'm totally baffled. I made a back up of the database and
1. Changed all fields that were required fields to "No"
2. Increased the size of each field to 100
3. Made sure that each field in the table was in the form

I still get the same error message when I ask to "find" certain clients.

Please Help!

Those aren't the actual client names ("Johnson", "Cotton", "Bulldog"),
are they? Are you at liberty to post the actual client names you're
searching for when it gives the error?

Dirk, are you seriously concerned for the privacy of someone with
the last name of Johnson? I might be concerned that there are few
people with the name Cotton or Bulldog, but if my name was Bulldog,
I suppose I'd wear it with a badge of honor.

No, what I meant was, I don't think those are the real names, and I want
to know what the real names are (in case there's something about the
names in question), if it's okay for the OP to post them.
