i always get this error 'the outline is too long to read in its entirety'
when opening a zipped .pdf file downloaded from the net. I need help in
opening it.

PowerPoint doesn't open zipped files and it doesn't open PDF files once you pry
them out of the zip file.

It's trying to treat whatever you've got as a text file, which it isn't, so the
operation ain't gonna fly.

What's in the PDF, what exactly do you need to do with it and do you have
Reader or Acrobat (in what version) available?
