the only tool that i know of that lets you do that is spyware itself.

PowerPro will let you make toolbars for any program, and show the
relevant toolbar only when that program is running :-)

That plus a thousand other useful things...

That's a good trick - I've only recently come to powerpro, and it's
fantastic, but for me a bit difficult.

I've really only added to the one supplied by the prog (monkey see, monkey
do), but perhaps you could tell me how to make the toolbars you describe.

TIA

Set up your new toolbar by clicking New List on the "Command lists"
tab of the configuration screen.

Set up the left-click on the first item on your new list as follows:

Where it says "Enter command, or select...", put *Format (including
the asterisk).

Below that, on the Format drop-down, choose "Context".

In the box below that, where it says "Enter one or more captions...",
put the name of your program.

If the name of your program varies, use wildcards. For example, I
have a bar for Firefox, and it reads *Firefox* in that box. The
effect of this is that anytime a screen with "Firefox" in the title-
bar is in focus, that Powerpro bar shows.

You can set up as many bars as you want in this way, and if you want
the same bar for more than one program, enter more than one caption.

Thank you for the help, althoough I've not had a load of success with it.

The Test button returns invalid *Format context opera, though there is a
small button which rightclicking offers a show/min/close menu, though I
haave no right click set up!

So I 'll have to keep trying

I find the help files, though comprehensive, enormously dense and
confusing, so I'm not ready for linux yet ;-)

I never use the Test button, but just went and had a look at one of
my context-dependent toolbars with it. I get the same result you do -
but in real life, it works :-)

So just try doing it, click on Apply, and see what happens.

One thing I've found about PowerPro - it's very forgiving :-)

The help-files are very dense indeed; however you don't need to read
the entire thing. Don't try to understand the entire program - just
read the bit that you need. For this particular use, it's the page
titled "Window-specific menu and bar contents"

As for Linux - tried it, liked it, but found a couple of programs I
need to use won't run under it. That, plus not being able to use
PowerPro, got me back to Windows. D*** that PowerPro! ;-)
