The Nightmare that is Outlook Continues

Now, in addition to not ever shutting down correctly, Outlook 2007
spontaneously starts when I boot up, even though there's nothing telling it
to in the MSCONFIG startup list or in my Startup Windows folder (Vista Home
Premium). That is making it impossible to install a third party Contact
Manager that requires Outlook to be shut down for installation.

It amazes me how additional horrors keep cropping up in Outlook. You guys
have really outdone yourselves with this one.

thinking of "upgrading from 2003" maybe not,

an idea, can you close outlook from the task manager processes to enable
your contact manager to be installed?

curious what do you use for CM? I got tired of Act new versions just
bogging down. wanted to try outlook with CM.

I repeatedly close Outlook from the task manager and within 15 seconds it has
started itself up again...

I used system restore to go back a few days and now I have to see if it
solved the problem.

Do you have a PDA that is cradled? Any third party programs such as Infuzer?

Oh, and by the way, this is NOT Microsoft.

No PDA cradled and no third party programs like Infuzer. I've also disabled
all but one of my Outlook add-ins (except one from Onenote, which is a
Microsoft program and so should be compatible). I've also deactivated as
many startup items as I'm confident in doing, both in my startup folder and
in the startup list in MSCONFIG.

Ha Ha Ha! That's the FIRST one you should have disabled......

I wouldn't just look at Outlook Add-ins, but any third party software on the
system. IIRC, the blackberry sync doesn't actually put a add-in into
Outlook, but it sure will keep Outlook running (and likely start it up too).

What about third party search programs? *Any* PDA sync software that uses
Outlook? Any localized Backup software?

FWIW, on my system, when I close Outlook 2k7, it closes. It doesn't stay
running.
