If you can't see any differences between IE7 and IE6, then you probably
still are running IE6... ;-)

I believe the main changes in IE7 are:

- toolbars more customizable than before
- tabbed browsing
- multiple selections of search engines
- improved formatting for print
- built in RSS
- popup stopper and other "security enhancements"

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/

However, most of this has been possible with addons, etc, even before.

I have been trying it for some time now, and there are several things
annoying me.

- some plugins not working anymore
- Visual Studio crashes
- On some machines, it's not "uninstallable"
- Stops not only Javascript popups, but also ordinary
links with targets to new windows
- Some pages renders better, some worse, than before,
some unrenderable pages even crashes IE7...

But, one has to remember that it is a Beta...

Hi Bjorn!

The most annoying thing is tabbed browsing for me. I have disabled it
with Netscape, wherever possible, but it appears again from time to
time. !?

In Times of <3GHz PC's!?? Tabbed vbrowsing....
ts, ts..

And I can also not understand why all the browser is closing, when one
window is crashing. Although, IE6 got a little better with this...
Again an easy task for such fast machines with so much memory.

That's much a matter of taste. Some see it as convenient, to others it's
just annoying. Speaking for myself, I'd rather have them tabbed, than as
separate icons in the taskbar...

I'm working on a webbrowser shell myself at the moment, with only three
tabs, and all of them for the *same webpage*, one rendering as IE, one as
Mozilla, one as Opera... ;-)
And I can also not understand why all the browser is closing,
when one window is crashing.

That's depending on how the resources for the application are allocated.
It's not only IE that's working that way, but e.g. most of the MS products.
When it occurs a fault in the core module, all depending modules have to
shut down too.

On one hand it's a good thing it works that way, as full allocation of every
app would exhaust many machines, on the other hand, when there's a lot of
bugs in the applications... ;-)

Internet Explorer 7 Has No Soul http://www.scotsnewsletter.com/80.htm

From the article:
It lacks soul. Although the Internet Explorer development team has
done a commendable job of grafting Microsoft renditions of some
worthy Firefox and Opera features onto IE6, as well as heavily
revamping security, the forthcoming version of IE doesn't break
significant new ground.

Catchy title. Cute even. But...

For those who intend to use IE7, it's great news that they've revamped
security. Anything that will help prevent the "zombification" of
surfers out there helps us all.

On a related note, it seems google is upset that IE7's search box sends
people to MSN search. http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=31393

Dear Bjorn,

Thanks for the sharing; i think i do miss sth.

Actually, IE is not my favorite browser at all; i prefer use KKman,
however, there's something bothers me! when using kkman to reply email
on webpage, i cannot use "enter" to separate different paragraphs, it
just does work!!!

Does anyone encounter same problem?

Cheers,

Rachel.

OE v6.00.2900.2869; I should have known.

I'm not that all impressed also. It's just a copy of other browsers
like firefox and netscape(been using for years). I only use IE when I
have to for some sites.

Recently, my shell is not working and it has affected IE. So I use
Sharpe Desktop now, and it is much faster then window's shell
(explorer.exe). I don't know why the shell(explorer.exe) and IE are so
integrated. :-(
