After all the delays its out!! Well officially released at midday today.

If anyone's interested i have stuck some of the reviews i can find here for you all to read.

I will keep this thread updated with any reviews i find.

Read the guru review and it was very interesting . If you have the set up to go with it the card s sound very very good .

Dunno still getting mixed reviews, maybe will be better when the drivers have been 'tweaked' but we know what ATI drivers are like, mind you the 8800's drivers aint perfect yet either are they.

I just read that some PSU manufacturers, (including Corsair, mine) will send out the eight pin cables for people who recently perchased their products.
Apparently you cant overclock without the 8 pin connector either! The card wont let you!

But its hot, loud and very power hungry at stock, (90 degrees under load,65 idle and 53dB under load!) so god knows how hot it'll get when its been oc'ed.

The Bottom Line

“A day late and a dollar short.” Cliché but accurate. The Radeon HD 2900 XT is late to the party and unfortunately is bringing with it performance that cannot compete. The GeForce 8800 GTS 640 MB is $50 cheaper, performs better, and draws a lot less power than the 2900 XT.

Does't look like ATI have made a big leap this time, which is a real shame - the 8800 looks like the way to go for the moment! I think I'm still a year away from a big upgrade, by which time DX10 games will be much more common - perhaps I'll make the plunge with a new graphics card then

If I followed the review at guru right the HD2400 range will retail at around $99 and only use 25 to 35 watts . So this despite being a low end card maybe of interest to anyone running Vista .
