After removing the MyDoom virus from my system, the whole
thing runs very very slow and my programs freeze. I had to
clear my system restore points because of the virus and I
tried using the "last known good configuration" but
nothing helps. I'm in safe mode right now and everything
works fine and fast in safe mode. I also disabled
everything in my starup menu and that also didnt help. I
checked the processor speed while in regular mode and it
said 100% of my CPU was being used; but in safe mode, only
2% is being used. Please help, I've only had this computer
for 3 months!

Hi'ya,

How did u actually remove the virus from your system,
if your concerned bout resources being low -- then click
start / run & type "msconfig" WITHOUT THE QUOTES then
click on the "Selective Start Up" radio button &
untick "Load start up group items" , click apply/OK &
restart & this will disable everything running in the
background (Including Antivirus/Firewall) software...i
would'nt recommend running your pc without the
antivirus/firewall but this will help you see which
program is clogging your system.

Martie.
