Okay, this is without a doubt the most embarassing question I've ever asked.
And that says a lot.

My MSN Messenger has been auto-logging into the service for a year... ditto
with the hotmail email check. I never have to enter my password.

Now I need to log in from another computer and can't remember my password.

Keeping in mind that my original computer obviously knows it and has a
cookie auto-logging me in... where can I retrieve this password?

None of the hints are helping me. :( I need to uncover the actual password
stored somewhere on my own computer.

Thanks.

Do you still have access to the old system?
If so, track down Windows Sniper. (Don't recall from where.) One of its
functions is... Reveal Password.

What version of the OS are you running?

Hello,

I know of a program called Sloth's Password Recovery that
works pretty well. Here's a
link, "http://download.com.com/3000-2248-10204277.html?
tag=lst-0-1". All you do is drag the sloth over the
asterisks (*) or bullets and it should show you it. The
only thing it hasn't worked in was Aim 5.xx and Office
XP, it worked in Office 2000 great. I would just hope
that they haven't updated their password encryption. The
only problem with the software is it is a trial and will
only detect the first three characters of the password. A
good way around this would be to get the first three,
then delete the first three asterisks (*) or bullets and
get the next three and so on, ect. If that doesn't work I
suggest you reset your password at,
https://memberservices.passport.net/ppsecure/MSRV_ResetPW.
srf?lc=1033. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

John the Ripper, is the name of an app to crack passwords. Yahoo or google
should give you an address for it, and I believe it works in windows, but I'm
not positive.

simple - you cant really as this would be a security
issue and you wouldn't want others accessing you computer
and getting you passwprd now would you? especially if
you use the same password for multiple things - not a
good idea as it is
