I have cable internet. Through a router. The main computer's internet doesn't
work. For some reason there is no connection at all. Under network
connections nothing shows up. The driver's have un-installed but I do not
know what network card I have. Any help please? I really need the internet -
on MY computer. Thanks in advance,

Rebooting the computer should detect the NIC. If not, run device manage to check the status of the NIC.

If NIC is Network Card then it doesn't work. Rebooted it and nothing. I can't
check the status of it in the Device Manager since its not there.

there.

With the computer turned off and unplugged, open the case. Reseat the
NIC. Now turn the computer on and see if the device is detected. If
not, turn off/unplug and put the NIC in a different PCI slot. If that
still doesn't work, replace the NIC. You can buy one for under $20usd.

If you are uncomfortable working with hardware, take your machine to a
professional computer repair shop (not your local version of
BigStoreUSA).
