hi, i was wondering if anyone can help. everytime i start my computer the xp
firewall doesnt load, i always havt to manually turn it on. i have tried
various things from reading other posts, but none work. does anyone know how
to keep it on, so it stays on all the time even when i shut down and restart.
thanks

Why not simply ditch the Windows Firewall and opt for the free version of
either Zone Alarm or Sygate? Both ZA and Sygate are far superior to that of
the Windows Firewall.
To be honest i have always been a big fan of Zone Alarm, but recently i had
my broadband speed increased from 512kbps to 2Mbps. On testing the system
bandwidth i noticed that i was only getting 575kbps on a 2Mbps line. After a
little trial and error i remoced ZA and replaced it with Sygate then tested
the bandwidth again. The speed jumped to just over 1Mbps. Not fantastic
(probably an ISP problem) but it looked like ZA was restricting the
broadband speed. Well unless anyone else has different ideas:-)

I had problems with the most recent ZA update and switched to Sygate. It
works very good and you can't beat the price.jim

Primary problem is it's now Symantec, and that's a difference that's more
than semantic.
