The exception unknown software exception (0xc0000409) occurred in

Hi,
I am running a Windows XP Professional Version 2002. Service Pack 2. I have
recently starting to get the above error and I cannot get rid of it. I have
virus scanned, adware/malware scanned and updated my machine from Microsoft
site, however the above error keeps on returning.

Any assistance gratefully received.

From a search on the Microsoft.com,

you will see a number of cases reported on error 0xc0000409, apparently
caused by various problems. Check the Event Viewer (Start - Control Panel -
Administrative Tools - Event Viewer, Application - and System logs) for any
errors pointing towards the cause of your case.

The Microsoft article "MS05-005: Vulnerability in Microsoft Office XP could
allow remote code execution":

addresses some issues leading to error 0xc0000409, however may the article
not apply to your case.
