I am using Windows XP with Outlook 2000.

Suddenly and with no reason, the envelope that symbolizes new e-mail and
pops up in the bottom right side of my desktop fails to show when new e-mail
arrives.

Can anybody help me to get this envelope back?

Hi Kristian,
open Outlook | Tools | Options | Preference tab | Email Options |Advanced
Options |
there you could activate the envelope

Right-click your taskbar and, if "Lock the Taskbar" is checked, uncheck it.
Right click again. Choose Properties, then Customize. Locate the "You have
new unopened items" icon and select "Always show" from the Behavior
drop-down on the right. Click OK, then OK. RIght-click the taskbar and
recheck Lock the Taskbar.

Thank you, that did the trick!
