Yes, it would appear that I used the incorrect terminology or point of
reference. But anyway I have practiced your suggestions that responded to my
problem. Having done that I found that my MB is capable of handling the new
drive. And, yes, I can boot-up without incident.
Now, I believe, I have inadvertently created a dual boot environment. First
off the old drive is no longer available. So can't go there. My questions now
are; Is there a way to verify this type of environment? And, if verified, is
there a way to correct it?. I mean short of re-formatting the new drive and
re-installing my OS. And all of my programs! You all know what a time
infringement that will turn out to be. Regardless. I will do whatever it is
that needs doing. All my personal files are on CD.
Or should I tell my son that I can no longer use the birthday present he got
me this year?
I do apologize for not knowing proper terminologies. Both, in articulation,
as well as acronymic. I was told that computers make life easier! They left
out some vital information in my opinion!
I'll try to learn more of the stuff. I'm new. Like - way Green! Er' what-ever.
Thanx for all the advice and direction. I have learned more and I fixed
other elements of my PC in the process. So it has not been without its perks.

Then change/revise the subject title. You've been previously informed as
its ***DUAL BOOT***, not 2 master boot records.

Go to Start - Run and type MSCONFIG,
Click Boot.ini and click Check all Bootpaths,

delete the unused or missing path

Didn't go far enough,

after clicking bootpaths, see that the highlighted line is the one you want
to keep,
then click the general tab on the far left
and click normal startup.
this will delete the unwanted line.

You think you have a "Dual Boot" environment?

can you post you boot.ini file?
or what is boot menu?

is both OS on same partition or hard drive?

do you know?
