that ever so slightly iritating refresh click noise

Why can't I turn off that little click you get when a
page is refreshed?.. it has got-itself under my skin. I
find no option for it in ... options... and I'm going
insane, please, for the sake of the noises that won't
stop.. help me :-)
 
I am not sure which little click you are talking about but try this:

Change or remove the sound.
Control Panel-Sounds
"Start Navigation" and "Complete Navigation" are the relevant items.
