Text to Speech Natural Voices - Freeware?

Hi,

Well - I'd be looking for the voices. I know ATT has some for sale,
they are very good, but I'm seeking out free natural voices. I
downloarded Text Outloud which isn't bad, but the free voices are
totally annoying and mechanical. I have very long texts to read and
hearing those drones for more then 3 minutes is a bit much.

The bad news of course is that there just aren't any really good free
voices around. All the free ones are about 8 years old and very
mechanical.

True. All the sites mentioned in this thread merely point to the standard
ones that have been around for a long time. The most "realistic" of them I
found was the female British voice. I believe "American Male #3" was okay
too, but, yeah, the rest aren't very convincing.

Use Google to search this NG for "microsoft dictation." There was a thread
about six weeks back or so. . .
