text spacing problem

I have nine lines of plain arial text written in an Excel worksheet (at 12 point size), but when I print out this text, not all but several letters are squished together for some reason. First I tried creating each line as a separate block of text, then I merged the cells in all nine lines so that the entire paragraph is one single cell. In either case, the letters remain pushed together in several spots.

Although the letters appear normal on the monitor, they do not print out correctly. Does this suggest the printer is at fault?

Does anyone know how to correct this text problem so that all letters in the text are spaced normally?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Cliff.

I would first check that your printer driver is correct and up-to-date.
