When I insert a table in a blank document, nothing shows unless I hit the "Show/Hide" button. I don't have the Tools.options... Hidden button checked and I don't have Hide gridlines checked. This happens also when I try to view a post I've saved from a newsgroup

It sounds as if the text is Hidden. Select it and press Ctrl+Spacebar. If
that doesn't work, select it and go to Format | Font and remove the Hidden
property.

Text is not Hidden - I made sure of that. I think it has something to do with the default text type but I don't know why I think that. If I open up a saved Outlook Express post in Notepad it's fine. I copy from the post from Notepad to Word and it's fine. If I open it in Lotus and copy back to Word it's fine. It just won't show originally in Word. And now this problem with the table not showing. It's obviously being treated as hidden text but what is making it happen?
