I wish to create a block of several lines of text inside a border on a
worksheet.
What terms do I look for to describe this operation?
Just wasted an hour looking in vain.
I know I will kick myself when someone points me in the right direction.

Thanks

Cancel panic. Problem solved.
As usual, posting a query as a last act of desperation ensures that the
solution will be stumbled across imediately.

Hi Brian,
Of course, you could provide the answer to benefit others. and
it is kind of hard to describe without using the term itself (which indicates you
know the answer).. My guess it was Text Box that you answered your
own question with, but the others kind of fit your description.

Text Box (on the drawing toolbar)
Comment Box (right-click, comment box or insert menu)
Merged cells with borders (format, cells, alignment, merged; ...)
Borders (Format, cells, borders)
Wrapped Text (format, cells, alignment or use of Alt+Enter)

Brian

Enter text in cells:

Select cells for text and merge
(Format, Cells, Alignment, Click Wrap text box)

Enter text in Text Box:
Use a Text Box on the Drawing Tool Bar - To see drawing
Toolbar choose View, ToolBars, Drawing.

You can also insert a comment. in a cell. This pops up
when the user moves the mouse over he cell. Select the cell
and choose Insert Comment

Regards
Peter
