I have been having trouble to any newsgroup for nearly a
week. This is a trial to see if I can.

Use any one of dozens of "test" NGs. That's what they're
for. Just enter "test" into your news reader to find them.

And...what have you concluded?
I haven't concluded anything, I'm still only at the guessing stage.

I rang my ISP as soon as I got into trouble, and they assured me
that the problem was all at my end.

I use Outlook Express as my browser and newsreader

This problem started for me as soon as I opened Outlook
Express one day on a newsgroup to post either a new message or
a reply to an existing thread. I found that Outlook Express now
had more fields at the top of the message to be filled in. I only filled
in the fields that I had been used to filling in, but Outlook Express
took me to the address book and seemed to want me to find
some details there to send the message to and would no longer
send the message as it had been accustomed to.

Next I tried filling in these new fields to see if that would make
Outlook Express happy; however, Outlook Express still would
would not send the message to the newsgroup.

This morning I thought I I would muck around and see if I could
try anything that might let Outlook Express send the messages
to newsgroups for me. I just tried to fill in the same fields as I normally
filled them in previously. And this time it worked. I don't know why. I
don't
know if I did anything differently this time.

Maybe it could be the server as LFR said.

I was just frustrated that I couldn't post to this newsgroup to ask the
helpful experts here about the problem.

Thanks for reading my post,

Nev.
