test onboard

Is there some kind of free utilities whereas I can check onboard things such
as sata controllers to see if they are good or going bad? Thanks much.

Your motherboard manufacturer may have those diagnostic utilities.

msinfo32 is pretty good with
letting you know if there are conflicts
between hardwares....

there are benchmarking utilities
too. if you use any of these be
sure to create a restore point, since
they really test your system.

PCWizard 2005
might be exactly what you need. but there
are others.
