temporaryily stop windows file protection

how can i temporarily stop windows file protection to replace a file so
that windows won't replace it back to something else? (such as bigcalc
found on kelly's korner xp) ?

Yes, it should work for Win2K as well. The path would normally be
winnt\.. rather than windows\..

You'd have to ask in a Win2K group, it's been too long since I messed with
that OS.
