Why is it that I can delete Temp Internet Files (manually or by using disk cleanup) but when I click on the (now supposedly empty) folder and its properties the summary comes up with about 10,000 files, still taking up lots of storage space?

go to:

Tools/INternet Options/General and under "temporary
internet Files" click "delete" to get rid of those files.

I think the disk cleanup only deletes some of them,
probably the *.tmp ones

You can also manuelly delete these, Open your windows
explorer and look in windos, there you will find the temp
file, just open it and delete them. good luck

See, I have tried that, deleting them manually. They all go into the bin and I think, fine that's done. The folder looks empty. But when I go up one level and click on the Temporary Internet Folder and then on properties it tells me that it still contains 10,000 and more files. I have checked in Folder Options and they are not hidden, but when I go into the folder it is empty! Drives me mad, why won't they show if they are in there and why won't they really be deleted??

In IE, go to Tools Internet options, Select Delete files and Check the Include
offline content box, click ok
This will clean them out

i have the same problem, and i did delete the files using tools/internet option/delete including offline files, but it still contains 8 files and 5 folders, what did i do wrong?

Try closing the browser and then run Disk Cleanup. Also, did you empty all
cookies?
