Temporary files going into wrong folder

I changed my logon a long time ago, but my temporary files and cookies are
still being stored in my old profile:

c:\documents and settings\old name\local settings\temporary internet files\

Obviously, IE is not looking at how I am logged on. Where does it figure
out what profile to use?

Did you create a new identity a long time ago or did you just change the
name you have for the account? If all you did was a name change, then you
are still the same identity only with a different visible name. If you want
to get all your things to a different account, create a new user, import
your old files into you new account and then delete the old *renamed*
account.
