I have developed a template, and what I would like to do
is allow any body to copy, edit, save and or rename the
template after they have put into the different fields the
information need. What I would like to know how to do is,
how can I put in my name at least when the document is
printed out my name will be there. Best case for this is
so that it is viewable also.
Currently you can open the template up put into the
different fields the information, then save it to another
location close the template, then re-open it up as the new
name and delete my name. I would like to know how to
provent this, so my name will aways sty attached to the
template!

KCB,

Numerous methods could be suggested here to help prevent "accidental"
deletion of your name, but there is no method which can make it impossible
or even difficult for somebody that wants to delete it. But if you just
want to make it so that a user has to intentionally go out of their way to
delete it, try putting it in a textbox anchored to the last paragraph in a
header or footer.

Chad

First, instead of opening your template, users should be creating a new
document based upon your template. This is done most easily when the
template is stored in an appropriate templates folder. For more on the
different kinds of templates and locations of templates folders see
http://addbalance.com/usersguide/templates.htm.

If someone can read a document, they can recreate it with any changes they
want. You can make it difficult to take your name out by putting your name
in the header or footer and protecting the document for forms. This is what
Word calls an "online form." Check this in help. For more about online
forms, follow the links at

Hope this helps,
