I want to create a Template and have people use it
without making any changes.

I also want to make my check-box automatic.

Is there a way to protect only sections of a document or
do I need to protect the entire document?

Thank you.

What you are talking about is what Word calls an "online form;" such a form
should be a template as well. Check "online form" in help. For more about
online forms, follow the links at
http://addbalance.com/word/wordwebresources.htm#Forms or
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/FillinTheBlanks.htm especially Dian
Chapman's series of articles. That series will answer your questions, I
believe, and make it easy for you to create solid forms.

What do you mean by "automatic?"

For more on the different kinds of templates and locations of templates
folders see http://addbalance.com/usersguide/templates.htm.

Hope this helps,
