I am a conductor of a local choir, and have a large amount of sheet music
filed in cabinets here and there. I was tryign to build an Access Database
to catalogue it all earlier, but to my dismay, failed miserabley! Does
anybody either know of a link to a suitable system, or have one that they
woudlnt' mind sharing? *looks hopeful*

i want to store composers/arranger, title, no. copies, sacred/secular, style
& type, period and a notey field...

Thanks you!

There are templates on the microsoft website for music (record) collections.
I'm sure you could easily modify that to meet your needs.

Hi Max

I have written something similar to what you want, if you are interested
please send me an e-mail (see my profile and omit the last 8 characters).

Microsoft provided a sample "Music Collection" wizard in Access 97 to
help people get started along that line. If you can find it, you may
be able to create the basic application and then extend it to do the
rest of what you want. I seem to recall an actual MyMusic.mdb
template on the MS Office site. Not sure.

If the above doesn't get you to where you need to be you can decode my
email address and start a dialog. I've done a couple of library
applications for my own use (tech CD/DVD and my own Music library
(vinyl, reel to reel, cassette, and CD)) Neither of them would
exactly meet your needs and I wouldn't share either of them "as is".
However, if you'll work with me to define your needs I'll give you a
working copy of an application that meets them.
