Template Questions

I have not needed to use Templaes since Word 2K or even '97, so I am sure
there are advanced features that will make my task easier. I need to create
a template that is a contract that will run macros to enter basic information
and then populate the contract with those fields. The most difficult part is
that some of the fields are selecting an option and then have larger blocks
of text being inserted based on the option. For example, have a choice
between Option's A, B and/or C (possibly through check boxes) each Option
selected will cause 3 or 4 paragraphs of information to be inserted into
different areas. Can this be done with Word? Can I link to an external file
where the descriptions are in an external file and the template pulls those
in? I know I may be asking to much of Word, so would another program be more
suited, such as Access?

Certainly. We usually use either AutoText entries, or store the text in a
separate Word document, marked with bookmarks, and use InsertFile (or generate
an IncludeText field) to bring it in.

And I'd definitely use Word instead of Access if formatting and layout are
important.
