....have that added text in a different color font.

I'm dealing with a 40-page template which contains questions, and lines for answers to be typed in. I re-formatted alot of the form into tables to make it easier to type in the answers.

When I type in the answers, I want all of the text to automatically be a blue-color font. How can I do this automatically, without having to go to each and every cell in all the different tables, plus the existing blank lines, to format it for a blue font. Isns't there a way to format the entire template so that anything new typed into this template should be in a blue font? Thanks for any advice.

The basic technique is to use different styles; but having created the
template already you've got a lot of work to do for any technique you
choose. What a pity you didn't *start* with this question! :)

Some version of these steps is the basic approach:

1. Define two styles called, eg, 'Question' and 'Answer'.

2. Go through the document and apply those style respectively to the
Question and Answer paragraphs. You might be able to use Find and Replace to
apply these styles automatically if there is some regular feature of the
paragraphs that Find can recognise (eg if all Answer paragraphs are empty
and no other paragraphs are empty; or all Question paragraphs begin a
number, etc).

3. Play around with the style definitions (eg setting the font color for
Answer to blue) until the document looks the way you want.

Unfortunately I didn't create the original document. I'm just supposed to fill in the answers, and I thought it would be easier to work on my answers if they were all in a different color font.

I've been using the procedure you suggested, but was hoping there was an easier way. Thank you!

If as you suggest, the document is formatted as two columns of a table with
the questions on the left and the answers on the right, select the right
column and format it with a different font colour. Anything you type in the
right column will have the colouring. If you tab out of the last cell the
new row will retain the same colour format for the right cells.
