Hi,
I know that in WORD 2000 and Word 2002, whenever we open a
file, word will create the temp file in the same location
as the original file. Is there any way that i can set
where the temp file to be created? Thanks in advance

regards...Jeff

Hi,
Since so, after saving the file and upon exiting, the
~wxxxx.tmp file should have disappear. How come i saw a
lot of them in my folders?

Some of the leftover temp files may be bits of text that you copied to
the clipboard, as explained in the section "The Location of Temporary
Files When You Close a File" at the end of the article. In other
cases, it seems that Word just loses track of its temp files and
abandons them.

You can use the cleanup procedure in
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/LockedFiles.htm to remove the
garbage periodically.
