Bill

I have checked the box in the Advanced tab to "delete
files in temporary folder when closing browser" but it
doesn't happen. I've checked & unchecked the box to reset,
but no luck. This used to work in IE5 but won't in IE6. I
can manually delete them but they add up quick if not
deleted automatically & this takes time.
I would appreciate any help to get the feature to work.

I have tried removing the cookies & manually deleted all
the files but it does not affect the automatic delete
situation.

Thanks
Bill

Bill,
Could be a corrupt cache folder(s) or a Registry entry?
You may need to clear your TIF as you may have a corrupt file there.

Close all instances of OE and IE
Control Panel | Internet Options | General tab
Click the "Delete Files" button, when prompted place a check in:
"Delete all offline content", click OK
Click the "Clear History" button, click OK.
Click the Settings button, adjust the TIF size to 50 mb, click OK

[more info]
Possibly your cache folder is corrupt:

Open Regedit to the following location
Verify the below entry is correct: ("Persistent"=dword:00000000)

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\Cache]
"Persistent"=dword:00000000

Edit as needed, however Export before editing.

I did the "delete all offline content" exercise but it
didn't help. I checked the "regedit" situation &
the "persistent" line had a value of 0x00000000(0). Is
that what it should read?

Thanks
Bill

Bill,
Yes that's what it should read if that option is selected.

If the cache still won't clear = delete all TIF folders, etc.
