Telnet Problem

Hi.
I'm using windows Xp Pro.
i've enabled the Telnet service on this PC.
the following problem occurs when i try to connect localy
(127.0.0.1) or remotely (on LAN) to this PC.
i have only 1 user on this machine and it's privileges
are "administrator" and RDP user .
the problem:
when i connect to this machine i have th folowing lines:

Telnet server could not log you in using NTLM
authentication.
Your password may have expired.
Login using username and password

Welcome to Microsoft Telnet Service

login:
---------------------
i input the user name after that
it prompts to enter password after that it's just hangs
and not responding.
i've checked the event log nothing is there..

Start help and support and type in telnet authentication in the search
window and hit the green button.

Open the full-text search matches, and pick "telnet commands"

I think this'll get you where you want to be--the other place would be:

telnet server, and the troubleshooting topic--it has the error you are
getting.

information on how to enable NTLM support.
