Telnet Echo?

I use Telnet to access a router for configuration etc.

Telnet seems to require that almost everything I key in
requires DOUBLE keystrokes. This did not occur using
Win98.

Why is Telnet behaving like this in XP Pro?

After re-reading this, I realized that I forgot to mention this neat
little Telnet application, PuTTY. I discovered it while using Win98,
but it works just fine on WinXP. PuTTY is a small app with a long list
of features. I think you might find it better suited to your work.
