Telephone turns computer on

Hi,

Can anybody help please.

When my phone rings my computer turns itself on. How can I prevent this
please?

If you mean that the PC goes from a completely powered down state to power on/boot, and you have a phone line plugged into your modem, it is probably due to your BIOS settings. If you know how to get into your BIOS, look for something like "wake on modem: enabled" and set to disabled. If you don't know how to get into BIOS, look at your user manual, and be careful, improper BIOS settings can cause major problems.
