i have a TEAC CD-W540E cd writer. the other day i was deleting files from my
machine in an atempt to rid my machine of virus and hijacking software. i
think i might of deleted a file that this device needs to function properly.
heres the error message:
"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration
information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)
Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device."
troubleshoot has not been able to help, i have updated all software and
drivers and i restored ALL the deleted files from the recycle bin but no
luck. i would like to wipe my drives and start over, but xp is on a cd..
i have a pentium 4 2GHz, 512 MB RAM, 2 x 40G hard disks, one partitioned for
system and audio(FAT32), the other is not partitioned (NTFS). the machine is
about 3 years old and NEVER gave me probs before i connected to broadband
cant think of anything else you might need to know
ANY help would be much appreciated im not very experienced with computer
troubles (yet
thanks in advance
