Does anyone know why the message view in TD displays a
compressed/uncompressed image size when a build is
complete? Is there a way to compress the image inside of
TD?

Thanks,
Tim Houle

Hi Tim,
Does anyone know why the message view in TD displays a
compressed/uncompressed image size when a build is
complete?

Because during the copy file phase TD collect real size of copied files. During that process TD uses cluster size that you set to
make accurate prediction how much space image will use on file systems with certain cluster sizes.
Is there a way to compress the image inside of TD?

NO.

Tim,

It's an estimated size being given by TD. In most cases it's fairly
accurate. In order to compress the final runtime create a new NTFS
compressed volume on the target disk. Next copy the image files to the disk
(make sure after the copy to decompress all files in the root (ntldr,
ntdetect, boot.ini).
