when booting win xp pro, window pops up stating tcp/ip
network transport is not installed, now home network not
working as well as dsl accesed thru network. any ideas?

1. Right-click My Network Places and select Properties. Is "Internet
Protocol (TCP/IP)" installed? If so, remove it, restart the machine, and
reinstall it.

2. Can the two computers see each other in Network Neighborhood?

3. From a command prompt, try pinging the DSL modem or router. What
happens?

4. Does anything show up in the Event Log?
