I have a user that needs to send out reminders to others to remind them to
do something in the future.
He still wants to have the task remind him...as WELL as having it remind the
other person.

Do tasks do this or is there something else to it?

Hi David,

Yes, the task item in Outlook can also raise a reminder for the user.
However, this reminder will not be listed on the user's calendar. It is
only listed in the Task folder.

To create task with reminder:

-- Open Outlook
-- Select File/New/Task
-- Select the "Reminder" checkbox on the task pane

To cancel this task, please mark it as completed or simply delete in the
Task folder.

If you create an appointment item that only involves the creator himself,
then the creator can also get a reminder from it. The appointment item is
listed on the user's calendar.

Hope the information helps.
