I could use some advice regagrding restroing XP colors to
the taskbar. I downloaded some drivers, and also had AOL
9.0 installed, Since then my taksbar colors have gone to
dull grey, and I cannot get them restored to XP bright
blue background, with start button bright green. The
dullness is driving my daughter nuts she liked the
bright, modern look of the XP taskbar with it's green
(Start button) and blue (taskbar) distinction at the
bottom of the screen. Anyone have any ideas? (I have HP
mx75 pavilion pc).

In the display properties (right click desktop/choose properties), under
apperance, what is the colour scheme set on? Is it on Default (Blue) ?

Oh yeah, Doh, I've just looked at mine.... :) I have the silver scheme, but
the button is still green.......just shows ya how much attention I pay to
the colours of the button... :)

Hmm, thats what I thought too, but with the gray scheme selected the start
button should still be green.

I opted for the pre-selected maximum performance settings, and I don't have
the green start button any more. The item which selects the appearance of
the buttons is in

Control Panel
System
Advanced tab
Settings
check: Use visual styles on windows and buttons
