Taskbar won't retain size changes

I've searched around here a bit, and haven't found anyone else with the same
problem.

I've got a brand-new laptop, with WinXP Pro. I want the taskbar to be
double it's usual height, but every time I re-start, the taskbar returns to
it's original size.

Every time I start Windows, I have to unlock the taskbar, re-size it, and
then re-lock it again. And then it just changes back when I re-start.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Gordy

I think I've tried everything, including some third-party registry hacks, but
all they seem to do is gray-out the "Lock the Taskbar" option, without
actually preventing the reset of taskbar settings.

Any thoughts?

Try creating a different profile yet?

Well, a new profile didn't fix it, but a complete HD format and re-install did.

I wanted a clean WinXP anyway, without all the Toshiba/AOL/Napster junk
installed.

Thanks for your help.
