taskbar separator lines? popped back how get rid of?

after some work in safe mode, permissions. old divider lines in taskbar came
back that you usually only see after initial install of XP. Is there a
setting way to get rid of.

else would have to restore system to earlier setting.
 
Right click the Taskbar and select Lock Taskbar.

get out of here! didn't know that did it.. have had unlocked before, and
did not have dividers pop up... thanks.

do you happen to know if there is a way from keeping Word windows from
cascading, from opening mulitple windows. thanks again.
