Errr, that was NOTEPAD. Sorry. Told you I was a newbie :-)

You mean add to the quick launch area of the taskbar?

Start - All Programs - Accessories - right-click on Notepad, select "Add to
Quick Launch"

Hi 46erjoe--

Dave is right but there is also something I think will help you work faster
I want you to consider. You can mod that taskbar to contain a combination
address bar and run box--then you don't even have to bring an IE windows up
to type an address or the run box. It's right there all the time.

Bringing up Notepad and other utilities/applications in Vista:

1) You can put notepad on your quick launch.
2) You could go to C:\ (or whatever drive you have Vista on) Windows\System
32 where ole notepad lives, and you could drag it to

a) Start Menu
b) Quick Launch
c) Your Desktop
d) any folder of your choosing

3) You could bring the run box up with a press of Windows Key + r and type
in notepad

4) You could type notepad into the Search Box and up would pop ole notepad.

5) A speed up tip I use is to do this--in 3 seconds make a combination run
box and IE address bar and plant it into your taskbar--if you want to give
the taskbarminimized buttons some stretch space, simply pull the taskbar
upward with your held down left mouse to increase its thickness.

Rt. click taskbar>toolbars>address>unlock taskbar>hold down left mouse and
drag the seam and you'll have a combo address bar/run box in the taskbar and
you can type notepad or anyother cmd that works in the run box into it and
up will pop ole notepad.

Notepad is not anywhere to be found under accessories. It is however
on my desktop as a shortcut. I don't know how this arrangement got
made. Right clicking on the icon does not reveal "add to quicklaunch."

Ideas? Maybe even how to get it back under "accessories?"

Thanks

in that case, just click on it and hold then drag it to the quick launch tool bar.
